Two of the ten stems are Earth, one yang and one yin. Each has one five-harmony pairing; the resulting element comes from the engine table and is never Earth itself.

Chou, Chen, Xu and Wei carry earth as their main qi. Earth alone has no trine and no seasonal meeting: the closing branch of every meeting (Chen, Xu, Chou, Wei) is one of the four earth branches — earth lives inside the other elements as the tomb/store position.
Most "element personality" pages online print the same templated traits. This page only prints numbers you can check against the engine: which stems, which branches, how often hidden, and how the cycle runs. Trait tables are not facts, so this site does not make them.
