Water is not a personality type but a checkable distribution: its exact place among the ten stems, twelve branches, hidden stems and the combination tables, all computed.
| Stems | 壬 Yang Water (yang)、癸 Yin Water (yin) |
|---|---|
| Main-qi branches | 子 Rat、亥 Pig (2) |
| Hidden in | 5 of 12 branches contain Water in their hidden stems |
| Trine | 申 Monkey子 Rat辰 Dragon (Water trine) |
| Seasonal meeting | 亥 Pig子 Rat丑 Ox (North) |
| Growth starts | 壬 Yang Water starts at 申 Monkey; 癸 Yin Water starts at 卯 Rabbit |
The direction of each relation comes from the engine ten-gods function; this page does not retype a second cycle table.
Two of the ten stems are Water, one yang and one yin. Each has one five-harmony pairing; the resulting element comes from the engine table and is never Water itself.
| Pairing | Combines into |
|---|---|
| 壬 Yang Water + 丁 Yin Fire | combines into 木 Wood |
| 癸 Yin Water + 戊 Yang Earth | combines into 火 Fire |
The Shen-Zi-Chen trine forms the Water frame, and its first branch is exactly the growth start of 壬 (cross-checked against the engine stage table). The North meeting Hai-Zi-Chou runs by direction: its first two branches carry Water as main qi, and the closing branch 丑 is the tomb of the 金 trine.
Most "element personality" pages online print the same templated traits. This page only prints numbers you can check against the engine: which stems, which branches, how often hidden, and how the cycle runs. Trait tables are not facts, so this site does not make them.
Every enumerable component of ba zi has its own page here. Each page is computed by the same engine and can be checked item by item — none of it is a personality table.
